Each year, as many as 40 cooks take the challenge by partaking in the Wisconsin State Chili Cookoff contest right here in Green Lake.

This contest, which is put on by the Green Lake Rotary Club and the International Chili Society begins when the cooks meet at 10 am under the big tent in Deacon Mills Park and start combining their ingredients to create some of the best chilis out there.

Cooking must be completed by 3 pm when chili will then be judged and the public is allowed to sample the chili and vote for the People’s Choice Award.

The event features live music, an award ceremony, and a live auction to take home your favorite chili!
